FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What are the three levels of access?  Which one should I choose?
The three levels of access are:

  • View Only:  This enables users to view statements and transactions for the accounts specified on the application.  It is most appropriate for investment consultants, accountants and other parties who need to view account activity, but do not have the authority to perform transactions or make administrative changes to the account.
  • Administrative Access:  Like View Only, this allows users to view statements and transactions for accounts. In addition, it enables them to perform administrative functions, including ordering new supplies of checks and deposit tickets, and changing addresses.  Administrative Access is equivalent to the current Statements Online, and all current enrollees will receive this access when the new site launches.
  • Transactional Access:  In addition to all of the functionality of Administrative Access, Transactional Access allows participants to exchange funds between accounts, initiate withdrawals via check and wire, and rebalance portfolios across accounts.  Transactional Access should be limited to Treasurers and others with similar authority in the organization.

How many people should have access to accounts?
While CBIS does not place a limit on the number of people with access to accounts, we recommend that users limit access to those with both the authority and the need to view their accounts online.

What do I need to do if I want to add or delete a user(s)?
You can download the Online Access Form here.  We require a separate form for each person added or deleted from the account.  In addition, the form needs to be signed by a signatory on the Certificate of Resolution on file at CBIS.  For security reasons, we can not provide those names over the phone, so please check with your business office or other authority if you do not know who has signing authority for your account.

Do I need to fill out a form for each person?

Yes, one form must be filled out for each online user.  Keep in mind, however, that current Statements Online users will automatically be given Administrative Access.  Unless you wish to upgrade this access, no forms are necessary.

You indicate that I will be enrolled in E-Delivery by signing up for online access. What types of communication will I receive?

E-Delivery enables CBIS to communicate with our participants quickly and efficiently, with minimal impact on the environment.  Quarterly, you will receive an e-mail with a link to Principles, our newsletter.  In addition, we often provide market updates, notifications of changes to our disclosure statements, and notifications of changes to our investment programs.  Statements and other official instructions will still be physically mailed in hard copy.

If I'm currently enrolled in Statements Online, do I need to complete the Online Access Form?

No, current users of Statements Online will automatically be given Administrative Access to the new system.  If you'd like to obtain Transactional Access, you will need to complete the form.  See above for a full explanation of the three access levels.

What can I expect the first time I log in to the new system?
The system will first ask you to accept the new Terms and Conditions of online access.  Please read this carefully.  You will then be prompted to provide a new password and a password reminder question.  Please follow the password guidelines, and be sure to keep your password a secret.  For the password reminder question, please choose a question and answer that you can easily remember should you forget your password.  Common questions include: "What was the first street you lived on?," "What was your mother's maiden name?," and "What was your first pet's name?"  Feel free to come up with your own question.
