UPDATED: Human Trafficking Issue Report – The Supply Chain Challenge

CBIS has updated its issue report on human trafficking, with special emphasis on the challenges inherent in global supply chains. More than 20 million people worldwide are trapped in situations of forced labor, bonded labor, child labor and sexual servitude, according to the International Labor Organization (ILO), a United Nations agency. Many of these victims are children. Unknown to many, goods and services used every day may be tainted by slavery. In fact, in 2014, the U.S. Department of Labor identified 136 goods from 74 countries that were made by forced and child labor. To learn more about the difference we are making through our active ownership efforts on behalf of our participants, take a look at our updated report.
