Overview<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

As a leading manager of Catholic assets, we are aware that the Catholic Church and Catholic investors, both U.S. and non-U.S., have been looking to CBIS for a more dynamic investment product lineup. In response, we made a strategic decision to significantly increase our resource commitment to the Catholic Responsible Investments Team, nearly doubling previous expenditures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We also determined that to maintain leadership in Catholic markets, additional resources would be needed beyond what could be generated through growth alone. As a result, CBIS entered into a strategic relationship with a global investment consultant and solutions provider to help build out the Investment Team and expand the CBIS investment lineup.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Adding Investment Experience<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Tom Digenan, CFA, CPA, and John Geissinger, CFA, will serve as Co-Chief Investment Officers. They will oversee service, portfolio management, and impact and justice initiatives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As part of expanding non-U.S. business and building investment talent outside the U.S., CBIS has begun a search for a Europe-based portfolio manager.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Strategic Relationship<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

After discussions with leading asset management firms, consultants, and trust companies, CBIS selected Mercer as its strategic partner. Mercer is one of the largest investment consultants and solutions providers in the industry and is well positioned to support CBIS\u2019s product development needs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As an extension of the CBIS Investment Team, Mercer will reinforce the integrity of the Catholic Responsible Investments process. This relationship provides access to new asset classes and investment strategies, particularly as CBIS expands portfolio management resources outside the U.S.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ramping Up the Portfolios<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The Catholic Responsible Investments Committee is actively working on product development and overseeing CRI Funds within this strategic relationship. Recent updates affect the following funds:
