He noted in particular our \u201cthrowaway culture\u201d and the tragic impact such culture is having on the unborn. The U.S. Bishops have declared January 22 to be a \u201cDay of Prayer for the Legal Protection of Unborn Children,\u201d in support of the full restoration of the \u201cright to life and penance for violations to the dignity of the human person committed through acts of abortion.\u201d CBIS has long taken a stand against abortion \u2013 from a screening standpoint, CBIS\u2019 life ethics screens are derived from the principle of human dignity and focus on respect for human life, both born and unborn.
