CBIS is pleased to announce that its Catholic Responsible Investing (CRI) team continues to grow, with the addition of Marcela Pinilla on June 27 as a Senior Analyst. She will be responsible for a variety of key tasks, including working with CBIS\u2019 investment managers, implementing investment screens, and leading proxy voting. She will also be responsible for select company engagements as we continue to expand our active ownership efforts.<\/p>\n
Prior to joining CBIS, Marcela worked as a Director of Shareholder Advocacy at Mercy Investment Services. Previously, she served as an Environment, Social and Governance Analyst at Walden Asset Management. Marcela graduated from Brandeis University with an MBA focused on Sustainable Development and an MS in International Health Policy and Management<\/p>\n

Marcela joins Julie and Assistant Director Tracey Rembert to bring over 40 years of collective experience in advocacy and corporate responsibility to CBIS. Tracey, who joined in May 2016, has a long track record of success in both U.S. and international corporate engagements covering a range of sustainability issues, including climate change, responsible lending, and labor issues. Julie, who has been with CBIS for 13 years, directed the expansion of the Active Ownership program worldwide by leveraging CBIS\u2019 global footprint as an asset manager and has been instrumental in successful engagements on a range of issues including human rights and climate change.<\/p>\n
The growth of our CRI team is a critical component in enhancing the value of our investment process \u2013 which includes screening, investing, engaging and servicing.
