CBIS was a general sponsor for the 2016 U.S. SIF Biennial Report on U.S. Sustainable, Responsible and Impact Investing Trends. The report was released today, along with a press release and was the subject of a media teleconference in Washington, DC.
Among the key findings, the report shows the continued growth of SRI-focused assets – reaching $8.72 trillion in the United States, up 33% from $6.57 trillion in 2014. “So much of U.S. SIF’s work parallels the services we provide our participants,” noted Francis G. Coleman, EVP for CBIS. “The latest report reflects that client demand, mission alignment, the desire for a social benefit, along with fiduciary duty, are key reasons for the growth in SRI assets. This is the very basis of our work with Catholic organizations and has been for 35 years.” CBIS has sponsored the biennial Trends Report since it was first conducted in 1995.
“Our participation in U.S. SIF’s work helps augment our own CRI program to improve policies and practices of corporations around human dignity, environmental stewardship and economic justice,” said Julie Tanner, Director of CRI at CBIS. “So many faith-based investors, like CBIS, helped pioneer the SRI model and it is heartening to see the industry flourish. Sponsoring the report helps to keep us all connected to these ongoing efforts.”
CBIS will attend a launch event tomorrow in NY. For more details on the report, please see the U.S. SIF Trends Report page on their website.
