CBIS to Host Panel at Resource Center for Religious Institutes National Virtual Conference on Child Sexual Exploitation Online

Julie Tanner, Managing Director, Catholic Responsible Investments, and Chela Mitchell, Managing Director – Investor & Consultant, will host a panel session on Wednesday, October 27 at 9:15 am ET at the Resource Center for Religious Institutes (RCRI) National Virtual Conference focusing on child sexual exploitation online.

Session description:
Children are spending more time online, often with less parental supervision. Internet predators are escalating their activity to take advantage of that dynamic. This workshop will explore the critical role investors can play to help keep kids safe online, by engaging with technology and telecommunication providers. Participants will come away with tactics and strategies to hold these companies accountable for eliminating child exploitation from their platforms and products, as Pope Francis urges us to do.

Panelists*:
UNICEF, Josianne Galea Baron, Children’s Rights and Business Specialist (Digital)
ECPAT International, Thomas Muller, Deputy Executive Director, Network Development & External Relations
Maryknoll Sisters, Cathy Rowan, Director of Socially Responsible Investments, lead investor on Alphabet / Google engagement
