CBIS quoted in Global Sisters Report article on socially responsible investing

Francis G. Coleman, EVP at CBIS, was quoted throughout a new article by Global Sisters Report entitled “Sisters lead the way in mission investing that influences corporate policy and advances social good.” Coleman reinforced the critical role that women religious have played in SRI over the years, and underscored the growth of SRI strategies, especially as financial analysts become aware of the impact social issues can have on corporations. “There’s a cost to having poor environmental records, for example, and there are ways to quantify that cost that financial analysts understand,” Coleman said in the article. “This forms the basis for much of the active ownership we do at CBIS,” noted Julie Tanner, Director of Catholic Responsible Investing. “Corporations have to pay attention to these issues or pay the consequences of facing higher risks and potentially lower profitability,” she said.
